Space-saving height adjustment for two rotation systems

Our systems rotate a wide range of shrink packs of different sizes by 90 degrees. The shrink packs can contain small 0.33 l or large 3 l bottles. When changing the product run, the height of the rotating mechanism is adjusted manually using a handwheel, usually from the operator’s side of the system.

For pre-palletizing at the Siegsdorf Petrusquelle, six-packs with 0.5 and 1.5 l bottles are coming on two belts running next to each other through 90° rotating systems arranged next to each other. When changing that range, height is adjusted by 120 mm.

Since the height adjustment of the second rotating station was not possible from the operator side, it was modified. The mechanics of the rotating system are guided on an enlarged plain bearing. The height is adjusted using a spindle, bevel gear and shaft under the conveyor to the frame of the second system.

With this solution, the range change of both rotating stations is possible from the easily accessible operator side. The height adjustment has stops for reproducible settings. This prevents operating errors when changing products.
